A response like that was to be expected considering he was a complete stranger to this woman, suddenly offering help out of nowhere. It was wise, and he’d have responded the same way had the situation been reversed— though she seemed troubled, standing there with such a look in her eyes; distant and melancholic while she stared out into the open land, perhaps it was instinct that drove him over to offer any help that would possibly distract her from whatever it was that, ailed her. He’d been there after all- even now, still clinging onto whatever good he had felt in his past.
His troubles lead him to help others whenever he could. Of course only if they’d be okay with it. “ You seemed troubled, so I felt it necessary to ask— In case it was needed.” He offers a half hearted smile, and tipped his head.
“ Forgive me If I’ve intruded. ”
