I’m called sassy all the time in school and I’m neither of the two… D:
I'm not sure what the purpose or point of this reply is...
Sassiness is a real thing. All people can be sassy on occasion. My point is that the term is disproportionately used to describe black women and gay men, and often when they are not being "sassy," but are being assertive or snarky. Using the term "sassy" (as in "ooo sassy gay frandz" or "uh oh get it gurl wit yo' sassy self") downplays the seriousness or legitimacy of the claims black women and gay men make and often turns them into the butt of the joke...people to be laughed at because they're "always so sassy" and thus their concerns seem less important and not valid and their voices are harder to hear. Gay men and black women being assertive or snarky should not be an opportunity for people to turn them into stereotypes to be laughed at.
I STILL GET CONFUSED WHEN I SEE YOU AND CLAIRE ON MY DASH!
I don’t know what you are talking about. ;)
