This is in response to your post on the Ace blog
Ok, I’m sorry if this is intrusive, I don’t want to mess with your identity, and obviously you should do what is best for you in all aspects, but afaik, mamzerim can halakhically marry converts and children of converts. There have also been and probably still are big rabbis (such as Rav Goren and Rav Ovadia Yosef) who help mamzerim by finding ways to disqualify their mamzeirutship on a case by case basis.
I don’t want to be the annoying neighbor who is like, well you just haven’t tried chia seeds and organic food, or to give you false hope, and I know that being ace makes things interesting, but I just thought that if there is even a minuscule chance that you hadn’t heard this before, maybe this could help you or someone else in your family in the future if there was an interest in halakhic marriage.
Hi Yorabu! Thank you so much for being concerned about me.
Unfortunately, and probably I should have mentioned this, the London Bet Din have already reviewed my case a couple of times for various relatives (remember the case originated in 1926 and affects, that I can think of, at least nine other living people), each time obviously trying to be as lenient as possible, and found nothing. Like, they have all the ketuvot and gittim and birth certificates and stuff on file, there’s no doubt.
But thank you so much for this, and for being so sensitive about it too. You’re great :)
Happy Chanukah!
