chainsaw man asa and denji parallels woah

I as a certified chainsaw man fangirl have of course hyper analyzed it to my close friends an incredible amount and have impulsively decided to let tumblr hear my rants as well (I’m incredibly tired and will not be rereading even a lick of what I write so I apologize for typos)

However I absolutely adore the parallels that fujimoto has made between asa and denji they’re both people who while growing up and until current have mostly been alone and have lost the only people and or creatures they had to accompany them such as asa with her cat and denji with pochita however the way they handle everything and go is so interesting from how pochita wishes to benefit and help denji achieve his ever changing dreams to yoru and her selfish desires and seemingly using asa to achieve said dreams while remaining rather vague on whether she truly feels for asa or is playing a gigantic game of pretend

denji as everything has gone though has suffered and gone through so much and because of this because of how asa relates to him to how I believe she sees herself in him she decides that she wants to “save” denji no matter what but unbeknownst to her she’s really acting against what he wants as he wants to be chainsaw man while she attempts to save him by relinquishing him of his duty as chainsaw man but the biggest thing I adore is how I believe that a big reason asa wants to “save” denji is because of the fact of how they parallel and relate and by her saving him she may in fact could be saving a part of herself because she too wants to be saved they’re just two lonely hurt people trying to get by and the poor sillies deserve a break 😭
