Serendipity Strikes!
On the plane queue from Oslo to Dublin I met the most wonderful lady!
Phillip had actually flown over to Oslo and sat right next to her, and we all happened to be taking the same flight back.
After speaking a while with this woman, named Brigit, I discovered that she is a professional artist living in Co. Sligo. We bonded over gardening, weather, art, education, museum work... I could go on haha. She told me all about her lovely country home that is basically off the grid, thirty minute drive from the nearest town. From her kitchen window she can see a cluster of unexcavated passage tombs that are thousands of years old!
And then: Brigit invited me to visit her!! I was (and am) so flattered and excited. She wants to show me all about the area and her studio space. What a once in a lifetime opportunity.
This is study abroad for ya, you never know who you’re going to encounter and where it might take you! Brigit and I exchanged contact information and we’re gonna plan for a visit in April when her flower garden is in bloom!
Here’s her wonderful collabortavie website if anyone is interested: http://www.dividualnotes.com/
