Art and maybe more art later
That up there was my entry for the Wowhead Legion Art event. Muh human mage (Yoshial) with Ebonchill, the Frost Mage Artifact Weapon!
...it coulda been a lot better, really. And it’s not just the usual Noisy Inner Critic at work, it really could have gone better. For one thing, my bro’s warrior (Kiros) and my kitty were supposed to be in this too, and the composition was a lot different, but I was feeling pretty bad (which resulted in an open hernia repair surgery last month) so I had to, uh, expedite this. Still, it’s not TERRIBLE, the water effects in particular are pretty rad. :)
Slightly-related: my MacBook is dead as a result of derp, I was moving my table (foolishly without closing my lid first) and hit a bump and in trying to catch my really-full ice water cup I fumbled it further, causing some large glops of water to get on my exposed keyboard. I shut down my MacBook in a hurry and turned her upside down to let whatever got inside drain out, but it was too late. Now she will never boot up again.
It’s not a COMPLETE cluster because I dropbox everything (especially my art PSDs and such) and my Firefox cookies are in cloud synch, but... yeah. My cute white MacBook. :(
The current models are way too expensive to look at from a person on a disability budget, but I think I can just barely manage to get the iPad Pro that’s coming out later this month as a replacement machine, and just as well since that will have actual pressure levels which in turn will facilitate more art. And it looks like the drawing apps on iOS are better than the ones on my Galaxy Note 10.1 (Android), so that’s also a plus.
Other, other stuff: I am continually validated in my decision to bring my brother into Lazy Peons. I was really nervous about it since I didn’t expect him to actually accept, but he did and he’s raiding with us and it’s awesome! Like... I have even more reason to play Horde-side, and he gets to be an Orc (despite being a filthy Alliance player like me, bro has always wanted to roll Horde, he’s super into Orcs) and he has more new people to talk to that he likes, and they seem to genuinely like him back. And, you know, this is on top of being able to do current raid content with him for the first time ever. And I feel like I am making up for him catching shit from his classmates for having an uncool, fat sister, because I still struggle with the guilt from that (it may have played into him considering gang involvement, because kids are jerks and if he was losing social options because of me...). So, yeah, no regrets in dragging my bro into the guild. I’m pretty sure he’ll continue with us into Legion. Just have to get him to talk on Vent, because he’s primo voice actor material.
