My cute and charming dual-nature is very endearing you see
not papyrus related and I know other people have said this, but I think people are really missing the point when it comes to kris doing massive damage to tenna with the shadow mantle.
they do reduced damage to tenna when they don't have it equipped. kris does not want to hurt tenna.
and tenna trusts kris. they have shared trauma. honestly, it might be a stretch, but tenna seems like the main darkner to really include kris so far beyond weird/sword route. like the others so far (queen, most npcs, to be honest) just see kris as a strange kid, but to tenna, that's like his kid.
it does massive damage to tenna because tenna doesn't expect that from kris.
sometimes I like to think back to undertale when it's essentially explained that a monster's trust in you (not to hurt them) factors in how much damage you're doing which is why you instakill some monsters in the genocide route beyond power, yada yada.
anyways. kris doesn't hate tenna, tenna just trusted kris, and kris (technically the player) betrayed it in sword route. jay out
