❥ ▬ Though she hasn’t been waiting for very long-- only enough time for her drink order to be both placed and delivered-- the fact that Catherine is left waiting at all is a rarity in and among itself. Her cousin has, after all, always been the more responsible and dependable of the two. Luckily she isn’t expected to clock in at work for another couple of hours and so she tilts the glass containing her mimosa to her lips, reveling in this moment of silence before her company arrives as Katherine is always much too eager to scold the blonde over her day-drinking; especially when she just so happens to have work on the same day.
As if on cue the brunette comes barreling towards their table and while she doesn’t even need to check the current time to know that the other is behind schedule she reaches for her cellphone regardless, swiping away a pesky text message notification from her boyfriend (whom she is rather upset with at this moment) in favor of flashing the screen to the woman before her-- time displayed right across the top of it.
“You’re late.”
“Don’t sweat it, though! I already ordered you one of these,” she singsongs, referring to the alcoholic beverage before them, “Something tells me that you might actually drink one with me today.”
