why capri likers would love mo du/silent reading by priest: • one (1) prettiest princess who is also a lying liar who lies (but will slice you verbally into atoms for noticing either) • one (1) overpowered bewildered boyfriend* who is mostly just trying to keep up with him and/or keep him alive • *("…okay is that what we are now? are we boyfriends? but we're still arguing constantly? is this…flirting, are we flirting?") • enemies to lovers sure but they WILL drag you through the 9 stages of grief to get there • complex mind-challenging machinations • obsessed with dismantling corruption in a way that matters • you didn't see THAT twist coming now did you • high hilarity in the midst of breath-holding action (fei du and the can of air freshener. laurent climbing on top of a wagon and waving his shirt) • The Trauma™ • full stable of beloved side characters for whom you have hopes, dreams and feelings • dark-horse romance that comes from behind only to hit you squarely in the chest with all the subtlety of a piledrive. absolutely breathtaking • wrenching battlefield confessions torn out of them • oh my god they're so in love y'all
Someone asked me to just think of “a few book recs” (with specific stipulations) and I gave them 16 recommendations in a word doc table broken down to title, author, links to goodreads, and shortened summaries for each one. Which was not what I intended to do when I started jotting down some ideas in a notebook. But. Here we are, I guess.
remembered belatedly that there are dvds at libraries.
