I’m in episode four but the most accurate costuming and hair was I think episode two with lesbian mom with a cane and a hard center part with a floral a line and cardigan. I am so deeply familiar with that woman.

It is the absolutely least important thing but the lack of pressing, length of collars, and the length of the shirt tails, and actually the weight and weave of the fabric, but the incorrectness of a plan white shirt in this show (Half Man) is killing me!

Getting old as a voracious consumer of queer media is wild! Like, the kill your gays bad representation and just bad writing and acting of the 80s & 90s was one thing but the bad costume and production design of a time I lived through with the weird anachronistic attitudes and language. Like. Rose colored lenses and things went all grim but it’s so strange. I was there! That’s not what it was like!

Trying to start half man but tripped up by my own chronology- I was a late teen when Jamie Bell was Billy Elliott and I had already seen Bourne’s Swan Lake! In this then teen version of these characters are suffering from saved by the bell syndrome. Beautiful Thing was my comfort movie in the mid 90s! I’ve seen actual children in this before.
