Reading (and re-reading) Emma’s piece “You Should’ve Asked” this week awakened in me an intense level of resentment about being the sole bearer of The Mental Load. The permanent. The endless. The exhausting. The invisible. And my husband is one of the good ones who actually does (most of) what I ask. (This awakening is why women in days of yore were discouraged from reading/studying/learning at all, amirite?) Watching Genius and Albert Einstein’s (mis)treatment of Mileva’s contributions to his work isn’t helping my state of mind. But it’s a damn good show.
