hi. just a reminder there is no deadline for knowing what to say or whether to say it.
this is not a test. or a statute of limitations.

pearl and satin for the ask meme?
pearl: what is your favourite: scent, flavour, sound, texture?
I’ve always loved the way trees smell; wet crumbly bark, sharp sap, drying evergreen needles, pinecones, moss. The smell of a forest, I suppose.
Flavor would probably be a good cup of tea - sometimes the balance of strength and sweet and temperature is just perfect and there’s nothing quite like it. Hard to predict, though. Good-tasting water is important.
Sound would be something musical and I don’t even know where to start beyond that. Or rain, river, waves - moving water.
Textures - Wooden surfaces worn smooth into a new shape. Cross-stitch fabric stretched tight across a hoop. Dipping a hand in the water over the rail of a boat, or simply beneath a faucet. Cozy socks on feet.
satin: what never fails to make you happy?
Singing with others to harmonize. Especially in a large choir, knowing a unique part well enough to listen to and enjoy the whole. Singing in a language other than English, having learned the meaning and pronunciation, trying to capture the meaning in the WAY I sing, so that you can guess something of it even without a translation.
Final choir performances are exciting and and satisfying but always bittersweet because I know we’ll never go back. The song we learned together is left behind as we begin something new. Here’s one I especially miss (not my choir - no one else sounds quite the same after performing it…)
(ask meme)
Um so my boss just told me if she gets a promotion this year I will become the manager of the international recruitment at my company? No biggie. No biggie at all.
