I need to do some recon, to unearth this interview I saw, where the singer of MØ talks about dancing as you gota dance, whenever that is, wherever, do it. Love hearing those reminders; other fing dancers, lovers of the danceballsout tunes, proponents of dance as you gota, when you gota.
Talking last night to my buddy about the superneed to move (to dance) (to breathe), I was reminded of that interview of the ballstothewall, keep-on-dancing-feeling of this band, their tracks. I spent the morning with MØ on the repeat enging, getting stuck (in a goodgood way) on GLASS. Here is singer Karen Marie Ørsted on the tune…
"The video is inspired by the lyrics to “Glass”, which tries to visualize the restlessness of a young person’s mind. It’s a boredom, an insatiability and anxiety. Fear of getting old, fear of missing things and fear to love. The video is shot in small Danish town called Hirtshals, which represents the provincial society well. I myself grew up in a small town, and know the feeling of restlessness and wanderlust. It reflects on a young girl’s burning desire to do something, but she has no idea what, how or where to begin. In the end it is always easier just to do nothing and wait for the dawning of a new day."
GLASS by the band MØ makes for a dance-inducing-do-your-own-thang anthem with extra, uh-huh, yes! by their seamless blend of song and video. The lyrics are an awesome fight for freedom, freedom perhaps to find your own thing. What to do with it. What to do with your restlessness. What to do when you feel, something.
MØ captures that selfless adventure into unearthing one’s passion. Selfless because when we follow that burn, the rest of the world benefits.
