If he was really in such a rush, he wouldn’t be fooling around and wasting his time waiting for her to make up her mind - it was a game, almost mocking her flicker of hesitation. He knew how desperate she must be to ask a serious criminal to get her out of the crown city, and it was by no means an easy decision, but he had a fair point: this wasn’t an opportunity she could seize again. Escaping the castle under the guise of a nefarious kidnapping by flying pirates was a perfect cover, but there was definitely a very sore risk that the ruse would quickly be wrestled out of her control.

“Fine. You take me…you ‘abduct’ me…to my desired destination - and I pay your price. I only ask that the terms and conditions of this agreement remain completely transparent; I’ll uphold my end of the deal if you uphold yours, and nothing else.”

           As a little boy, Jim was accustomed to the fast life that came as a    result of a family business ; he could recall a list of endless nights spent    on the kitchen floor while Sarah was up on her feet, washing the remainder    of the dishes plucked from the tables. He would clank discarded pots and    pans and laugh every time Sarah gave way to a slight wince — his smile    encouraging hers, evolving from wary to at ease. Nights like those really    put the family in their family business.

          Now, with his tailbone against a thin strip of the countertop, his mind    flutters to those moments as he notices the parallels introduced ; Silver, in    his mechanical appendage a purp skinner he's currently working with. All    they needed were some pots and pans ; yet even in their absence, it felt a                                                                      little like home.

        life. death. rebirth. it was a constant cycle that the pirate had grown accustomed to. he lived. he died. he was reborn. the passing of days held little indication to the passage of time now. he kept tract of time's inevitable progression in count of lifetimes, in the number of times he'd awoken in a new time, in a new age, in a new life. he'd been a soldier, a healer, a scholar, a politician.

                                         yet always in his heart he was a 𝖕𝖎𝖗𝖆𝖙𝖊.

       there was no changing that. the sea would always be the force which rocked him to sleep each night. any air but that at the sea made him suffocate. no life was spent idle, he was always searching for something upon the horizon. nothing would ever be enough, because it was not the measure of bounty to be had, but the journey itself which made his heart sing. he was a pirate, and he always would be.

        now, the rock of the sea is replaced with the cold depth of space. sturdy wood turned to forged metal, islands traded for planets. piracy was not as it had been in the old days, when he'd first lived. but at the heart of it, it remained true. sinbad stood upon the deck of the chimera, staring out upon the darkness of space, surveying the swirling vibrant hues of galaxies waiting to be explored. how long have they been out here? he knows not, only knowns that it will never be enough. he could sail out forever, and never have enough.
