You guys know how much I love Cad - this made me want to cry yesterday. After four years of planning a series around him based off of the obsession I have with this character because something was just different about him that I couldn’t place my finger on, we are finally seeing that he’s more than what was described when we watched CW. Whoever this “best friend” character was or did to his mother, wife & child, sister - I don’t know, this hurt him. Not just made him vengeful, but broke his life apart. I just knew that he had a heart, as swagger as it is.
I wrote the first two chapters of Alien: New World Order on Wattpad when I was a freshman. Since then, I’ve been replanning and rethinking this story (among others) for a long time and it’s finally coming together as I imagined. Turns out I just needed some growth! This fanfic can now work, even if it’s a crossover in a Last of Us scenario thanks to this sudden unveiling. If Cad did have a close relationship with another, this proves that his relationship with Newt in NWO is a reawakening of his old life. Alien: New World Order is his redemption and how I work to transform him into how I see him, as the most interesting and important character in my life and this backstory proves that it was inside him all along. He just needed someone to push his intelligence from not just a badass bounty hunter, but as a badass anti-hero who learned to care again.
I don’t care if it sucks or if the story is bad or whatever, what matters to me and others is that we are seeing the BEST character in Star Wars unveil his backstory. And that’s what important! Enjoying something you love!
