FINAL TABLE

I always love cooking/baking shows cause I used to dream to go to a culinary school, but never went cause I don't have the money. And watching these shows somehow makes me happy and learn new things.

Final Table is such a cool concept of a cooking show that showcasing true talent of all these great chefs.

But it really sucks that they sent home those bright and eager young chefs that in my opinion deserve to be on that show more than those old white chefs that already have everything.

I love seeing Charles and Rodrigo, Alex and Ash, Esdras and Rafa, also Manuel and Benjamin. These people really have that spirits, but looks like the judges only looking for old white males to compete at the final episode smh

But overall I like the show. I hope Netflix work with some of these young chefs on their future cooking show lol

 Rahanna Bisseret Martinez first appeared on culinary television joining Bravo’s Top Chef Spin-off Top Chef Junior Season One as a finalist at the age of 13.

Since that time, She has interned at Chez Panisse Café, Mister Jiu’s, Emeril, Gwen LA, Compère Lapin, Ikoyi, Californios, and other culinary institutions. Rahanna collaborated with Target to create a food waste awareness commercial promoting vegetables and has enjoyed designing culinary creations for corporate and private events.

At age 16, Rahanna continues to intern, build her company, Rahanna LLC, and appear as a public speaker celebrating vegetable consumption, culinary access and inclusion for all.

Young Chefs Training Truimph

The National Young Chefs Training Programme celebrated a 90% pass rate and a total of 1787 young lives transformed through education at the graduation ceremony in Soweto in July.

The graduation ceremony of 279 young chefs at Uncle Tom’s Community Centre in Orlando West, Soweto on 25 July was a rousing success. From the hard-working team at the SA Chefs Association head office lead by Hudson Masondo, project coordinator for the National Young Chefs Training Programme (NYCTP), to the crew setting up, decorating, filming, catering and coordinating events at the venue, it was a day to remember for the youngsters who formed a sea of white jackets and chef’s hats. Graduates and their families came in from Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West and the Free State provinces.

Stephen Billingham, president of the SA Chefs Association, welcomed the dignitaries, lecturers, students and their families and friends. In attendance were the Minister of the National Department of Tourism, Tokozile Xasa and director general Victor Tharage; ward counsellor, Themba Msibi; Cathsseta chairperson, Phumzile Kedama; Tsogo Sun training manager, Bernice Heister; Tsogo Sun executive chef Gold Reef City, Vaughan Assan; Glen Davidson and Nondumiso Nkosi from Awesome Travel; and Nedbank SMME business workshop manager, Regina Gaunden.
