Khayree’s production career spans multiple decades and genres (Vanilla Ice’s ‘Hooked”!) but this compilation focuses on his insane 90’s run that peaked with the Spotify-lessYoung Lay’s “Young Black N Dangerous” album. Expect 6-minute sinister synthesizer funk complete with deep mini-moog buzzsaw bass and the occasional Ad-Rock sample. With the exception of a few songs, this doubles as a Young Black Brotha Records playlist, a label for which he served as CEO and in-house producer. In an old Murder Dog interview he says that he never used sequencers when programming; the subtle changes in the bass and synth lines from bar to bar are evident upon carefully listening.
