Simons introduction in the show, as a whole, is sooo good. I’m sure we’ve talked about this before but the way we see him singing first. Getting bullied and becoming louder in response to that, then he walks past August, Nils and Vincent in the church, who again, don’t have anything (actually) nice to say. And then the next scene is his middle finger key chain, right in the viewers face and then the following scene August calls him using an insult. And as a result of that Simon gets to introduce himself. Geniuuuuuus. Love it.
When Simon says ‘maybe it just can’t work’ and Arcade picks up volume with ‘I’ve spend all of the love I saved’ and then Simon goes ‘I can’t do this anymore’ followed by ‘We were always a losing game’ + ‘Small-town boy in a big arcade’. That fucks me up every time. It’s so good. Young Royals has some scenes like that where all the music choices complete the picture in a way that makes me want to crawl up a wall and bite something.
Always throws me off that you can see Omar’s tattoo in the Holy scene in s2e5 where was the make up team come oooonnnn

I do have a very soft spot for s1 Wilhelm fighting and being loud with his mother to make his wants and needs clear. And then still crumbling and trying to do as he’s been told. Bb.
