I know how to get your hand back...
*Birdie stays curled up to Fi’s side, his eyes watching the other carefully.
Oh? And how would that be?
*Her tone is still even, but she doesn’t believe the other’s statement.

I know how to get your hand back...

*You see a boy walking past, weari— You…know that sailcloth. That’s the same as the one you made for Link, though, there are outlines of stains his never got, lines of stitching Link’s doesn’t have. Other than that, you realize he looks just like Link when he were younger, though the boy’s face is…Completely void of emotion.
*There’s a scar across his neck, and the Goddess Sword on his back. He lifts his left arm from where it’s hidden under the sailcloth— his hand is gone. Cut off about halfway up his forearm. Just above that is some kind of device on a bracelet, which he’s squinting at. It’s some kind of technology, far ahead of your time.

*Upon seeing you at first, she excitedly begins to approach you. As she gets closer, her footsteps slow to a stop as she sees the things that are... different about you. The stains of blood, the spots that had clearly been mended, the injuries — but what concerns her most was the lack of emotion from you. Clearly, you aren't her Link, not exactly.*
*Concern replaces her excitement as she begins to approach you once more. Her mind is racing as she tries to figure out what went wrong. She stops not too far away from you, taking a breath to calm herself.*
Link?
*There’s a banging on the front door to the house, like somebody’s kicking it to get attention.
*When Sky opens it, it’s Fi, holding an unconscious Birdie. They’re both covered in blood, tears run down Fi’s face. It takes less than a minute to find out why.
*Birdie’s left hand, and about half his forearm, are simply gone. He’s clearly taken a potion, but he’s still in bad shape.
- @knight-in-training-sky
*I rub at my eyes as I move over to the door, putting the sailcloth over my shoulders as I do.*
I'm coming! Hang on!
*When I open the door, I look at FI with confusion before my eyes fall on Birdie.*
B...birdie...
*My face pales as I move forward, gently cupping his face in my hands.*
Birdie... Birdie. Can you... Can you hear me?
W...What... who?
*Birdie walks, and walks, and walks. He can’t stay around Starshine much longer, but with her so wholly unconscious.
*He doesn’t know where he’s going, just away from there. He only looks up when fog surrounds him, blinking and looking around. He’s never been here before.
- @knight-in-training-sky
The sound of giggles filled the the surrounding fog. Strange trees that looked like they're laughing littered the area as you walk between them. A strange breeze blows through the grass, as if guiding you through the forest.
*Birdie walks up to Groose, not speaking, and tears just start to gather in his eyes. Fi is standing next to him. He has the Goddess Sword, his Sailcloth, and a notebook and pencil in his arms.
*Birdie can’t help it as he starts to cry, tears running down his face, his only sound not sobs, but little gasps as he tries to calm back down and fails.
- @knight-in-training-sky
[Groose turns to you and smiles when he hears you approach, only for his face to fall a moment later when he sees your tears.]
Hey- what's wrong, lil guy?
[He rushes forth, bending down to your level and- unable to stop himself in the face of the urge to provide as much comfort as possible- wraps you up in a deep hug, burying his hands in your hair and ruffling it softly]
Did something happen..?
[He looks at Fi for guidance, unwilling to make Birdie talk when he's in such distress]
*Birdie walks alone through the forest, Goddess Sword hanging off h8is back. It looks fine, but something feels off in a way that even Breeze can tell. His outfit is torn, covered in dried blood. His left hand is missing, along with about half his forearm. His expression is completely blank.
*Oddly, when his eyes land on Breeze, he...
*Doesn't seem to care..? He doesn't nod or say hi, true, but he isn't afraid, either. His expression doesn't even change.
@knight-in-training-sky
[He's mildly surprised to have come across Birdie out here, instinctively bracing for a confrontation of some sort. He winces when he notices Birdie's clothes and hand- or- lack of a hand.. Just what happens in the time since he last saw him?]
[He tilts his head at him at the lack of a reaction, lifting his hand and waving awkwardly.] Hey-? Are you hurt?
[He internally cringes at that. Of course he's hurt. Or- was hurt. Just look at him! If it is him. This isn't an imposter, right? What's with the blankness?]
...it is you, right? The little sky hero?
*Birdie signs nothing as he walks over to where the large blue flower-like shape on the ground is. He draws the Goddess Sword, holding it in his hand tightly. He still signs nothing as he steps over to it, readies the sword in hand, and stabs it into the center of the flower.
To Ethos and Sky, nothing happens. His breathing deepens, eyes closed, kneeling on the ground with his hand on the sword. It’s almost like he’s asleep, though he’s not laying down.

[runs up to you and stabs you in the stomach, twisting the knife and grinding it in before yanking it out and running away again]
Urk-
*He tries to stay standing, but ends up collapsing. The knife had cut deep. His hand shakes as he fumbles with his Adventure Pouch, trying to find his potion. He hadn’t fully expected to be stabbed again, so gruesomely, when he’d denied taking extra potions from the others.*
*Tears prick at his eyes as he lays there, one hand once again covered in his own blood. He feels pathetic — being stabbed twice in as many days, letting Zelda disappear..*
*His eyes feel heavy. He wants to sleep. Blood stains the grass around him. He wants Zelda. Or Sky. Or Legend, or Twilight, or anyone. But…*
*He doesn’t want to bother them. He wants to be stronger.*
*He wants to go home.*
*The Goddess Sword chimes. Calling out, for those that she’s met, for those that would help her master.*
