Daehyun was getting worried. He had arranged for his boyfriend to come over a few hours ago, and the fire was burning low and it was over an hour since Youngjae was supposed to appear so that they could cuddle. Pacing back and forth, he glanced at his puppy who was watching him. "He should be here..." Checking his phone for the nth time, he finally threw it on the bed and grabbed his jacket, gloves, hat, scarf and as an after thought, a hot water pack and an extra sweater. Shoving the thick plastic pack into his pocket, he grabbed the dog jacket and placed it onto Belle, who jumped up and bounced around his feet. "You're a guidance dog, but you have to help me find Jae, okay?" He told Belle, ruffling her hair. Glancing at the window, his worry onto intensified seeing the flurry of snow, turning the glass almost white as the flakes beat against it. Pulling his puppy outside, he checked his cellphone one more time and then left, heading outside.
The first thing that hit him was the cold. It was beyond 0 degrees, far too cold for his lover to be out here. Daehyun should have offered to come to him, he should have checked earlier or made sure to wait outside so that Youngjae would be able to find him. Squinting into the snow, he let Belle pull him blindly, trusting his dogs senses more than his own. "Youngjae!" He yelled, trying to see past the never ending white that obscured his vision. There was no familiar figure, he couldn't recognize anything out here. Everyone was at home, bundled up and hiding from the frigid temperatures. How long might have Youngjae been out here? An hour, at most but that was enough, he knew how long it took hypothermia to set in and even if his lover was okay, he would still be cold and very sick. Slogging through the snow, he continued to scream out the youngers name, searching for him in the landscape of bleakness.
It was only when Belle began to bark and yank at her leash that Daehyun felt a glimmer of hope. Yes, in the distance he could see something, a shape different from everything else. Yelling again, he perhaps saw a bit of movement. Nearly sobbing in relief, he reached the dazed boy, cheeks a vibrant red in contrast to his blue lips. Yanking out the hot water bottle, he quickly unzipped the youngers jacket and placed it over his chest, zipping him up just as quickly. The extra jacket went over the males sweater followed by the hat, gloves and scarf. By the time he was done, Youngjae looked like a mummy but he couldn't care the least. "C'mon, let's go back. I'll take care of you." he promised, pulling the other into a tight hug.
