This was it.
The day that'd change his life forever. For the better of course. He'd been a bit nervous before the day had even approached. Just when they were still planning. But now, as he started to put on his suit and fix up his hair, he could feel the sweat starting to form at his brow. His father told him over and over just to take in a deep breath. Calm down. Don't think over the stuff that had him worried senseless. His father also had to slap his hands away from fidgeting with his suit too much a countless amount of times.
It was a weird thing seeing him nervous. Normally nothing could make him feel such a way. Performing in front of hundreds of people? No big deal. Marrying the person you love more than anything in this world? He looked like he was about to faint at any given moment. But a few glasses of water and a couple more deep breaths fixed that issue.
He gave his mother a reminder not to cry too much since she already had that glassy look in her eyes when she saw him right before heading to the venue. Gave his dad a look that said: 'You'd better at least shed one tear for me'. When he turned his back on them and began to walk off he could already hear his mother start to sniffle a little bit.
When he saw the entire set up and watched as people rushed around to finish up some last minute touches, he felt the nerves rise up in his stomach again. But, as he headed towards the arch that he and Nora would stand under together and everyone took the time to congratulate him or give him a soft pat on the back or even a small hug, the nerves began to settle. For now at least.
