The Visit - Closed Starter
Eurus gently set down her cup in its porcelain saucer as she heard footsteps ascending the stairs.
A small smile played over her face; her gaze was on the crackling fire that she’d laid in the grate, warming and lighting the room. The only light; it cast her half in shadow, accentuating her even more dramatically than usual. With her face turned away from the door it would be difficult for the person entering to see her expression.
After so long quite literally in the spotlight, Eurus Holmes was tired of being watched.
She turned her head ever so slightly, moving the cup and saucer to the side as a person was framed in the doorway. Her long hair fell down to either side and over the arms of the chair, her white robe, the mark of a patient, shining brightly in the dark.
“Hello, Dr. Watson,” said Eurus pleasantly, her voice just a touch too loud. “Tea?”
