Isobel never thought she would be friends with Violet. They never did see things through the same lens and were always caught in an endless cycle of conflict masked by sarcasm. Still, Isobel always admired Violet for her strength and the subtle kindness not often seen by others. It seemed Isobel taught Violet to view life differently, and in return, Violet taught Isobel to speak her mind and defend her character rather than sit back in silence. Two people who started off as enemies only to form an inseparable friendship.
Time spent with Violet at her house was what Isobel looked forward to most. While she enjoyed Violet’s company, Isobel also found the household staff endlessly amusing. Between Pratt and Denker, there always seemed to be something afoot.
“Are things not improving between the two of them?” Isobel asked as she sipped her tea once they were alone. “I can’t imagine those two will ever get along. I don’t know how you manage it, really.”
