Bear This In Mind, It Was Meant To Be - A Harry One Shot
As I stepped out of y house, the cold air stung at my exposed fingers and my breathe caught in my throat.
I was surprised by a warm body ramming into me at full speed.
"Hey Haz." I attempted to say. It came out more like a wimper considering the fact that Harry was squeezing me to death.
When he finally let go, I took the oppertunity to fix my long, blonde hair that had been ruffled up during Harry's massacre.
"John Mayor?" Harry whispered into my ear, his breath tickling my freezing cold skin and sending shivers down my spine. I swallowed hard and nodded slightly. He carefully unraveled his earphones and gently placed one in my left ear while playing the other in his right ear as we started walking.
We started talking and after a while he shyly reached over and grabbed my hand, entwining his soft fingers with mine. I felt my skin tingle at his touch, my stomach fluttering as our warmths mixed.
We have been best friends since the day we were born, which, by the way, was on the same day. Our moms were roommates in college, and ended up being best friends and living down the street from each other. Harry and I had been extremely close for as long as i can remember. Sleeping over at each others houses, spending almost every weekend together. We always held hands, but this time, it was different. This time, it felt magical.
We got to Liam's house and knocked on the door. We heard a pair of heavy footsteps getting closer until we saw Liam's cleanshaven head poke through the window beside the door. As he played with the lock I suddenly remembered the warm presence of Harry's hand in mine, and quickly dropped it, my hand feeling instantly cold and lonely. I was looking forward to avoid eye contact but out of the corner of my vision i saw him slump and sigh very loudly. The door opened however and his head shot up, his face putting on a smile for his friend.
"Hey guys!" Liam said. "Come on in, everybodys in the tv room."
We walked in to the familiar house and made our way to our group of friends across the house.
"Hey lads." Harry said as he took of his scarf and set it on the table next to the chair Niall was sitting in. A chorus of "hey guys" came from the people sitting in various places around the room. I separated myself from Harry and sat in the empty spot on the couch next to Liam. Harry sat on the armrest of Niall's chair.
We sat and talked for the next few hours. Every time I looked at Harry he was staring at me. And when he saw me looking, he would quickly turn his head and pretend to focus on the conversation going on in front of him.
When it was time to leave, Harry and I said our goodbyes and headed home. After ten minutes of completely awkward silence and tension, Harry finally broke the ice.
"Wanna come to mine? We could watch Love Actually." He said the last part with his famous half smile plastered on his flawless face.
"Sure." I smiled. "I miss our movie nights." I add, poking him slightly in the ribs with my elbow.
Suddenly, he stopped walking and turned to face me.
"Riles." He said shyly, almost inaudibly.
"Yeah Haz?" I asked, extremely confused about what was going on.
"you know we've been friends for a long time right?" He seemed incredibly nervous. I laughed a little bit.
"Yeah of course Hazzy. I was there. remember?" I smiled sweetly at him. He chuckled a little, seeming to calm down a little bit.
"well in the past few months Iv'e realized how much you mean to me. But not in a friend way, in a..... more than friends way." He was looking down now, hands shoved deep into his pockets and foot playing with a small rock on the ground. My heart skipped a beat when I finally processed what he had just said.
He liked me. As more than a friend.
I bit my bottom lip strongly as I tried to hide my fastly growing smile.
"I feel the same way Harry." I whispered, reaching out to grab his hand. He took his shaky hand out of his pocket and joined it with mt outstretched one. My body felt instantly warm and complete. He smiled lovingly at me and carefully moved his other hand to it's special place on my waist and pulled me closer, our bodies colliding.
He leant his forehead against mine and I felt our heart punding against each others. He stroked my hair out of my face and slowly started to lean in. I could feel his warm breath take over my cold skin. I felt more butterflies than I ever had before fill my stomach as his lips found mine, our bodies intertwined.
I happily wound my arms around his strong neck and played with his perfect curls as our lips danced together happily.
When we pulled apart I leaned my forehead against his chin, closing my eyes and trying to catch my breath. He sighed happily and placed a sloppy kiss on the top of my head.
"I love you." He whispered into my hair.
