:^) It's me again. Before I say anything else; the game is still under development. This isn't a dead blog(or at least it won't be once the demo is complete)and I'll be posting a more in-depth explanation of what's next in the upcoming week.
I apologize for the hiatus; after having many more issues with the demo(mostly art-related), I took a break to spend some time with friends and to work a little less stressfully on improving the facets of my artwork/the game's art that I wasn't satisfied with. I cannot stress how important it is to me for this demo to fit my vision for it upon release. I just don't want to put out something I'm not happy with and I already have a list of things I want to redo before I can drop the download for it.
There were also some things that happen in my personal life(again)which involved me finding out someone very close to me had been lying to me for the better part of the last 4 years and contributed a significant amount behind the scenes to what was probably the worst period of my life to date. This culminated in my promptly cutting them off, as well as getting back in touch with a close friend I haven't spoken to in those 4 years as well. Anyways; long story short, my break is over and I'm back to working on the game and will try to post more updates starting next week. Some of the story is also being partially rewritten to lean a little more away from the stereotypical 'yan romance vn' overtones to something a bit more complicated--so I'm excited to share some information on that, too.

As for commissions--money is tight recently, which has also contributed to my hiatus somewhat(cue me getting rejected by 3 different people who were interested in commissioning me). It's embarrassing to even have to advertise this, but if any of y'all could reblog this or consider helping an artist out and commissioning me, I would appreciate it immensely. So I'm back and this time I've got news B^) Long story short, the game demo will be released soon. Like...soon-soon. I'm just reworking the sprites(again)and finishing up some writing. The GUI/Menus are all done and I have a simple but functional main menu and some original bgm. Later I'll be answering some long overdue asks and maybe posting a few spoilers for the demo release--but for now I wanted to show y'all a redesign I did for our MC, Phoebe. Long story short, I just felt her original design was too plain. It didn't show as much of her personality as I wanted, and honestly, I can imagine it resembling a younger Phoebe rather than an older(current)Phoebe.
Art block finally left me, so back to designing game assets--here are some messy sketches I did getting back into the flow of things. Also going to be posting a slight redesgn for Michael soon and maybe some story info :^)
What are some of the differences between the “Michael” persona that he puts on, and his true personality?
And what if the MC were to tell him that they wanted to get to know who he was beneath the mask?

Hi!! I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying the story so far<33(or should I say content?? More lore will be out soon, I think) So to answer the first question, there are quite a few differences between Michael and his authentic self. To save you from any confusion I'll be referring to the persona as Michael, and his true personality/authentic self as Foster(Seeing as that is his actual last name and what the only person who knew him before Phoebe/MC used to call him.)
Some of the main differences between the two are listed below;
-Michael is charismatic, talkative, extroverted, and deceitfully kind whereas Foster is extremely reserved, awkward, and filled with anxiousness and self-loathing.
-Michael tends to dress in bright colors and(tries)to wear nice-looking and/or stylish clothes. Foster wears almost the same outfit wherever he goes and generally tends to lean toward darker/neutral colors and has a special soft spot for flannel shirts.
-As Michael, he's very understanding and patient and so he's generally more concerned with what you want than his own wants. As Foster, he's a lot more...I guess forward about what he wants?? Especially when it comes to things involving physical touch/signs of affection.
-Adding on to that last point a little bit, Michael almost never talks about his interests or hobbies. Or if he does, he tries to have the same ones as you. Foster would be reluctant, but will talk about things he's interested in only for as long as he feels like he isn't boring you.
-Michael would never hurt you. But Foster might. This is because while Michael tried to be as 'perfect' as possible, Foster is definitely more emotionally volatile.
As for if MC ever told him they wanted to get to know him better--it honestly depends. I feel like his first reaction might actually be to get somewhat offended, in a 'what, so who I am now isn't good enough for you??' kind of way. He doesn't understand why you would ever want to know the real him, and it would take a while of convincing to break him down enough to trust you won't just up and leave him if he stops the act.
