Cheek pressed firmly against the metal table in front of him, Envy could only huff against the cold surface and struggle to listen in on the rushed conversation that was taking place just outside. Several chains wrapped around the homunculus, tying him to one of two chairs that sat opposite of each other in the interrogation room; an effort that would have been a laughable attempt to keep Envy pinned.. if not for the tubes of steel that pierced through the red nodules on his shoulder blades, effectively disabling the sin.
So maybe the remnants of the Amestrian military really had found some of Father’s research notes underground- it was where they had found Envy shortly after he managed to regenerate, after all- and it explained how they knew to paralyze him. Now, the only thing left was for petty officers to squabble about how to ‘take care’ of the homunculus. He could hear a few words every so often: “Kill it!” “ Might know more--” “Should wait-” but the chaos seemed to die down for a moment before the heavy door swung open and footsteps approached. “...I’d love to get up and greet ya’--” Envy drawled through grit teeth, “But I can’t exactly move...So.. Which unfortunate fuck did they decide to send in?” The officers hadn’t bothered to tell Envy who they were calling; for all he knew, they could have been ringing up Mustang to come finish the job..
