Again, this refers back to Brandt’s multiple interviews with different people; Branch and Lopez being prime examples. Both people had completely different means of access to literacy. Branch had the easiest access while Lopez had a much more difficult status due to her roots. However, in the end, both Lopez and Branch came out of college with their respective degrees. They are both successful people due to their self-perseverance, their literacy sponsorship from their parents, and recalling back to why they got to this point.
