Back in Ponyville once again... It was almost hard to believe how similar it was to the one that LJ knew sometimes. Sugarcube Corner was in it's usual place, so was the Carousel Boutique, even Sweet Apple Acres still sat on it's cozy plot of land, when Alternate Dawn said they would be looking into a time long since past, she didn't expect to be stepping into a place so familiar, yet at the same time foreign. There were no statues of Princess Twilight here, thatched roofs as far as the eye can see, and perhaps the most interesting to her, no ponies wandering the streets at night.
The Ponyville she knew was a haven for all both night and day. Ponies were not afraid to leave their doors unlocked. Ponies could go about their daily life without fear because there was a strong princess in charge watching their backs and a team of heroes keeping the things that go bump in the night away. She almost wordered if there would be any heroes here, but the towering castle off in this distance, Twilight's castle, was a stark reminder that even though she was in the past, this was still a time of heroes.
The thought brought a little smile to her face as she adjusted her saddlebags and the wooden sword strapped hero her back. Heroes... She wondered what kind of heroes would exist in this time. Knights in shining armor keeping the peace, or a band friends doing what they can, either way, she could hardly wait to find out. Unfortunately for her, it was night time and no pony was in need to help right now...
What a way to kill the mood.
Eventually she turned a corner into an alleyway absentmindedly, no seeming worried about anything that may lurk in the dark. She was a tough mare after all. Applejack didn't raise a weakling... However, what came from the shadows was not a monster like she would have been used to, but a small group of ponies. Ponies in leather jackets and sporting the most ridiculous kind of matching haircut. Must be delinquents of some kind and she had just wandered into their territory.
LJ backed away slowly, not out of fear, but more concern about Alternate Dawn's words about their time here. 'Don't get involved in any events, don't let on where you are from,' and one specifically addressed to her, 'don't get in any fights.'
The earthpony’s mare slipped the pendant around her neck into her neckerchief and stated, "Look fellas, I am not looking for any trouble. I am just a little lost is all. I'll be out of your hair in just a moment."
It seems that the leader of the group was amused by her statement, smirking widely as he took a bold step forward. He raised a hoof and gently pulled up on her chin so they would be at eye level, "Relax dollface, we aren't gonna hurt ya. We're just gonna show you around town. Come with us."
LJ backed away once more, seeming more annoyed than anything else. Dollface? The buck is that supposed to mean. No matter... She didn't trust these fellows as far as she could throw them. It is not like she wasn't old enough to spot a trap when she sees one. She insitinctively reached for her sword, but paused as she remembered Alter's words. No fighting! She swore to herself internally and instead turned away, preparing to bolt out of there but a swift tug on her tail told her that these fellows meant business.
"Listen toots, I don't know what your deal is, but you aren't just going to leave us hanging like that."
She sighed, shrugging the stallion away with one of her hind hooves, "Listen bucko, I don't plan on going with anypony anywhere. So you either let me go, or we are going to have a problem."
