Tess hadn't been in town for long, and she'd spent most of the time settling in the new house. She only now got a chance to explore her surroundings, and as she did so, she saw a bar that, unlike the others she'd passed, appealed to her. She walked in and headed over to the counter, asking the bartender for a glass of bourbon as she sat down. Shortly after, when her drink was in her hand, she studied the other patrons, careful. That was, until someone spoke to her, breaking her out of her thoughts. “Sorry, what?”
