Seth | the girl who cried wolf

Her plan was reckless and stupid and she knew that but Darcy was too proud to just stand around and be made a fool. Maybe she’d end up dying but at least she’d be a pain in the ass to those who’d pissed her off. And Seth had seemed like the perfect puppy dog to fool. She’d already sent a couple dozen photographs of Sebastian Hastings dealings to him, anonymously, of course. She didn’t know their family’s history but her intention was to stir up a bit of trouble. Just one issue arose, it wasn’t quick enough. It wasn’t bringing the same gratification as a normal take-down would.
Reckless or not, her plan still faced scrutiny. She had gone over every possible outcome she could think of. Many ended in death; pissing off an original enough to snap her neck. At least, that was if they were feeling kind enough to do it quickly. Either way, she always knew she’d lead a short life. Why start running from death now?
Her boots made a distinct noise against the pavement as she crossed the road in front of the Imagine That theater. He had told her he worked there and over the past few weeks she learned his schedule. Just as another minute ticked by, she saw him walk out the doors.
“Seth.” She was quick to pull on his arm, yanking him into a nearby alleyway. Strength wasn’t much of an issue when you caught someone off guard. She paused for a moment, faking to catch her breath. She worked up a flush in her cheeks to make her urgency more believable. “I know you don’t really know me but I need your help. Out of all the people I’ve met, you’ve been here the longest. There’s something seriously fucked up going on in this town.”
