Just be you.
Question : What’s your advice for someone who wants to make content for a living?
Mitchell Davis : Really what it all boils down to and what my motto is, is to do what you love and really go for what makes you happy and not what you think is going to make you popular. Don’t do what you think is going to get you a following or an audience, when at the same internally you’re extremely unhappy and you’re not actually making anything you want to do. If anything, keep making pieces you’re really into and then eventually that audience will come, and that work will come in where someone will see what you do and commission you to do something similar for them. I’m a big believer in that because I just did my own weird little video thing, and now I’m getting hosting gigs because someone saw it, not because I was sitting in my room pretending to be a host.
YouTube will never be my job because it's everything I hate. Having to smile in order to send positivity, knowing that deep down it's just to cover a lack of affection. Uploading a video and staring at the statistics. Having to get along with everyone, making forced collabs, having to go to conventions. It's not something I like to do.
just realised i haven't watched a hannah alonzo vid since that weird vid she did on becca bloom sometime last year. just couldn't take her seriously after that.
