You break me

I'm upset with myself. After years of training myself to not think about you at night, to not think of you when I hear the sound of your name. When I finally can see pictures of you with her and be content with myself about it. When I can finally wake up in the morning without checking my phone to see if you called. When I can finally go a day without wondering if you miss me as much as I miss you. When I get used to the fact, that I wasn't who walked away but you. Then, then is when you say you miss me. Then is when you say, why can't we go back? Then is when all of my years of utter torture and acceptance fades. The wall I built brick by brick, day by day collapses with 3 meaningless simple words. Words that splintered a whole into my heart. Words that choked me to leave me breathless. Words that made my crumbled to ashes. I'm upset with myself because I falsely acclaimed myself as a whole being after you left. Only to find I was a domino trying to stand in your hurricane. I'm upset with myself because I may never be whole again and I let you control me without you trying.
