Ok, this has to do with my headcanon that Nya (and Kai) are Spanish speakers and the fact that the double L in Spanish represents a Y sound. Basically, one day Nya has to read the ninja’s names off of a list for some reason and gets distracted and so it goes

She looks up and everyone’s just like??? What??? And she’s like “what?” And Lloyd corrects her pronunciation of his name and that’s how the ninja find out that Nya and Kai speak Spanish.
