Is YSLM ringing up another multi-level marketing scheme?
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9, 2015:
Is multi-level marketing company YSLM, which has for long been the centre of controversy for its alleged “get-rich-quick” schemes, now offering mobile services, via YS Mobile service?
This could just be the case after several similarities between YSLM and YS Mobile were detected.
For one it is interesting to note that YSLM and YS Mobile bear initials that are almost similar, while its Chinese name also sounds alike when pronounced.
YSLM stands for “Yun Shu Mao” while in Mandarin, YS Mobile stands for “Yin Xun Tong”.
It had also been previously reported in the Chinese media that YSLM charity wing chairman Datuk John Lee Kim Tian had launched a mobile service.
Meanwhile, according to itswebsite, it seems that YS Mobile runs similarly to YSLM, as it requires users to be paid members in order to obtain a SIM card.
The website goes on to state that the membership fee is RM350, which allows users to obtain a SIM card worth RM16.80 with RM5 worth of free talk-time.
The company also claims to offer a free RM100,000 personal accident insurance from one of its partners to subscribers who reload a minimum of RM30 per month.
Those who sign up are also offered RM300 worth of bitcoins, which can only be used to purchase items on their website.
Its multi-level marketing scheme comes into play when existing members introduce others, receiving from RM60 to RM300 or more when members join.
A Facebook page called “Protection against illegal pyramid schemes in Malaysia” , which carries alerts on such schemes, claimed that YS Mobile’s SIM cards also contain gambling applications that allowed users to win real money when they topped up mobile credit at YS Mobile’s top-up machines.
These machines, called Woopit Terminal, were located at selected convenience stores, apartments, condominiums and food courts.
The Rakyat Post also observed that a signboard depicting self-proclaimed “world’s future richest man” Zhang Jian — who is behind YSLM — located at the company’s office and members’s club, had been replaced with a YS Mobile advertisement.
YSLM stirred controversy after it was alleged that it may dupe people out of money via its pyramid scheme and “get-rich-quick” scheme.
The Malaysian Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry also labelled YSLM as a direct sales company which was not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia and said it operated without a licence from the ministry.
Late last year, Zhang was reportedly arrested in Thailand for allegedly scamming RM605 million from thousands in China, Malaysia and Thailand.

School to name hall after 'world's future richest man'?
KUALA LUMPUR, October 30, 2014:
A school in Lukut, Port Dickson, is mulling to rename its hall after the “world’s future richest man”, Zhang Jian.
SJK (C) Chung Hua Lukut director Tan Si Rong explained that the founder of Yum Shu Mao, or YSLM International, had apparently donated RM 350,000, the highest donation received by the school.
“We are currently thinking to rename the hall to honour him.
“However, we would be holding a meeting with the school staff and will discuss with YSLM for the final decision,” Tan said when contacted by The Rakyat Post.
When asked how soon the decision could be made, Tan said the school preferred to remain low profile on the naming of the hall.
“We would not be calling the press to cover the event.”
Tan claimed that the proposal had received a mixed response from the public.
YSLM was believed to have donated the particular sum to build a three-storied IT building worth RM3 million which is set to be completed next year.
Zhang had attracted controversy over his business dealings, with many being attracted to the scheme as it promised them luxury cars and cash within a short period.
The ministry had labelled YSLM as a direct sales company not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, which operated without a licence from the ministry.
On Tuesday, the Thai media had reported that Zhang, whose real name is Song Miqiu according to the Malaysian Chinese press, was among three individuals arrested for scamming 6,000 million baht (RM605 million) from thousands in China, Malaysia and Thailand.

Kerajaan digesa bawa pulang Zhang Jian
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 Oktober:

YSLM rep now a Pahang Datuk Seri
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7, 2014:
The Pahang Sultanate has conferred the title of “Datuk Seri” to the media officer of controversial company YSLM International, owned by self-proclaimed Chinese millionaire Zhang Jian.
Datuk Seri Jessy Lai confirmed that she was among 10 people conferred titles by the Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah this morning.
Lai apparently told friends about the news by chat message application WeChat although there were no public announcements in the news or photos of the event on YSLM’s official Facebook page.
Pictures of the title conferment were shared via a Facebook account Malaysia Youth Team.
Lai, who later confirmed receiving the title via a phone conversation with The Rakyat Post, said that she believed that the person who publicly announced her new title on Facebook did so out of joy.
Although Lai knew a month back that she would be conferred the title of “Datuk Seri”, she said did not tell others about it because she was busy handling YSLM matters and wanted to keep a low profile.
She was sure that others would attack her over her title, but she did not want to respond or answer those who accused her of cheating.
Lai said she felt happy and was nervous about receiving the honour and denied that she was conferred the title in Thailand.
