I’m sorry, but wtf even is yt rewind this year?

I know it’s already been talked about but okay, thoughts:

1. I’m glad they didn’t show off their cash cows much like the Paul Bros or whoever else. It was kinda refreshing to not see them at all this year.

2. This was so incredibly impersonal. It didn’t show off anything that happened this year in youtube. What the fuck were they going for? I thought the point of youtube rewind was to have the youtubers get together and do stupid skits. I would rather see a repeat of last years over this one.

3. If they were trying to make up for last year’s fiasco, they failed. This one was just. Ugh.

4. I would like to see less of the creaters that earn the most obscene money for youtube. Say what you want about them, but I get so tired of seeing J*mes and J*ffrey being pushed out at every opportunity, they’re like the new Paul Bros or KSI and I’m sick of it. I don’t care if this video was just a statistical list, youtube is still pushing an agenda.

5. Just do away with the idea altogether, because it’s clear youtube just doesn’t know what the fuck it’s doing anymore and it shows.

YT Rewind 2018 deserves a better fate.

I don’t understand why the Rewind has 7mln dislikes against 1.6 million likes. Is it really possible to be so one-dimensional and to be pissed by the whole community of Pewdiepie because of his absence, but the presence of Fortnite in the vid? As if Pewdiepie content is that much better and more influencial if compared to all the clickbaits and crap from Fortnite.

I do not know people from all over the first half of the video, like you, but I guess they are new aspiring creators that got their first 1mln subscribers or so this year.

I do know all the animators from there and their videos really helped me to look at me and my life differently. I also watched tons of videos about drag queens, about medicine, about psychology and mental health. And this is really what changes the world for the better, not your Pewdiepie with Fortnite.

When all the major platforms start to hide freedom of sexuality and other long-term issues (that everyone on Tumblr fought for) with a blanket of filters and weird management, YouTube tells that it is important to show off your personality. That it is a must to create something beautiful and share it with the world. That it is ok to be yourself. Please support YouTube.
