Up late & just finished watching the IBG Conversation again. I’m thinking a novel could be written about each of these moments (both the moments when they actually happened + their words about them during this convo):

I agree with everything you said about IBG. The "innocent" nature is mainly why I love it. Like you said, it was unique and it low key felt like they gave permission to fans to witness them reconnect which is a little crazy since they’re private people and don’t necessarily let us see moments like these. Mark was in the room all along, right? If he’s smart enough and if it wasn’t clear before, that day he understood GA had a major crush on DD and that he couldn’t compete with him. Ouch indeed.

YES! Also, I think IBG is unique because of David and the way he acted around Gillian that day. It’s totally adorable. We are used to see Gillian around him behaving like a giggling teenager, because she is always like that, but David is not always that open, to say the least. I think he gave all of himself that day, and was being honest about things and also wanted to hear her opinions too, like when someone asked her about Miss Havisham, and she said she didn’t want to talk about it because it might be off topic, and David insisted she would tell the story. I loved that! And my other favorite part is when he said to Gillian that they would figure something out for her in Cali, after he saw how disappointed she was when he said he didn’t want her to be in the show. OH, and he reached out to touch her TWICE!

So, every day for a week after the event in L.A. on July 30, I was going to post something because I was so strongly moved by everyone who turned up - and aside from being such a well produced event, it was such a lovely atmosphere all around - but then, as most things do, as you will have learned if you were present on that day, it slipped my mind. 

I know that Chris and David felt the same way, both about my mind and the event and both remarked to me afterwards ‘let’s do it again!’ which we will maybe every couple of years. 

I don’t know quite what it was. Was it the intimacy? Or that it was a tight run ship of like-minded smiling people getting a long awaited itch scratched? Or the fact that David did not come prepared which set the tone for a free fall of off-the-cuff silliness? Or was it simply my brilliant questions and seemingly bottomless sense of humor? Hard to say. BUT!!, I had a blast and I thank everyone who spent a penny more than they should have to be present for our truly wonderful evening. 

I recently rewatched snippets of the ibg event for sa-yes and I cannot stop thinking about how good David looks. I love him in flanell but this is ridiculously handsome. Gillian looks so happy and literally glows. You can see they are having a great time and I wish we could have another event like that for the 25th anniversary or promo or whatever…
