A second photoset of the wonderful Općina Stari Grad, the complex of buildings that houses the Municipality of Stari Grad, the oldest subdistrict of Sarajevo. This wonderful glass and brick pyramidal pile is easy to miss, stuffed in a back courtyard between Zelenih beretki street and the river, and bridging over back alleys with a series of mezzanine skywalks. The Stari Grad municipal website states that it was designed by Zoran Brož in 1980, but I can’t find anything else about an architect by that name. The building is under redevelopment at present to apparently update it and repair some remnant war damage; images from Sarajevo news websites over the last few days show the red brick rendered over with white painted plaster and the metal frame windows painted blue, which is pretty awful (last two images). I might have photographed it on one of its last days in its original state. Photos July 2019 Bauzeitgeist and via Starigrad.ba.
