moments are just as they seem--moments. they pass by as the earth continues to spin, time being wasted or safely secured as precious moments depending on that person’s perspective.

for jaye he doesn’t know what to think of this situation. he’s confused, to put lightly, and is still collecting his thoughts and piecing everything together when his back meets the wall. it’s cold and solid, easy to indicate and separate from the warmth of her hands against him as well as her overall presence. eyes dig into his being and for some reason it feels like she’s looking right past his defenses; finding his weakness.

he knows that’s not right, knows that his walls were still secure, and decides to soften his gaze and instead offer the woman an entertained smile, “ah, i get it.” he lifts his hands, placing them on her forearms and lightly tapping them as a playful tone slips past his lips, “are you thinking of joining the taekwondo club? sorry but when i signed up there weren’t any requirements like this so i think someone tricked you.”

he had been too absorbed in catching up on the recent league news on his phone while making his way to the gym when he was startled out of his skin at the sound of screaming–

“yah! what’s a guy doing in the girl’s changing room?!”

raising his head faster than usain bolt’s new world record, minho opens his mouth in an attempt to defend himself–

“minho? wha- ugh, just get out!” 

the male just gapes at the other - oh isn’t that heo yuhee-sshi from the lgbt club, i didn’t know she did sports too - feeling so attacked (nick jonas’s tweet turned internet meme briefly crosses his mind) before swiftly turning around, waving his arms in the air awkwardly. 

“i swear, i didn’t see anything!” 

it wasn’t a lie, minho was once again, in a truly that’s-so-minho fashion, was too obsessed with football that he had not even think of checking out the girls in the changing room. not like he wouldn’t mind but his brother had once joked he would marry a ball if he could.

“minho!”

he seriously needed to make his escape or else he’d be torn apart--

“out!” 

and somehow minho found himself at the entrance of the room, the door slamming behind him. damn, yuhee-sshi is strong for a ‘grandma’. but then his own grandmas were terrifying to say the least. they could choke him with their hugs and minho wouldn’t put it past yuhee to do the same thing.

“no you don’t understand yuhee, i dress for what i think the weather should feel like.”

he keeps his tone light, joking, but every word rings true. september’s drawing to a close, but he’s staging a one-man protest, optimistically dressed in a thin t-shirt and shorts. mind over matter, so they say. and he’s got thick skin, calloused over from morning swims in cold water. his mother used to draw the line at frost on the sand, and even then he’d find ways. he used to hate swimming pools, the heated ones especially. what a dumb little shit he was.

“then stop whining about it. yah, you want this cardigan?”

he glances down, raising an eyebrow.

“i’m good, thanks. cute that you think that’s gonna fit me,” he replies, chuckling. “and listen, i didn’t get these tattoos to hide them under a cardigan alright—they hurt like a bitch.”
