♡Yui Appreciation week 2017 - Day 1: Animal Crossing villager Yui~ ♡
Ayyyyy, here is the last of the Animal Crossing theme. If you didn’t know, I had drawn the triplets as Animal Crossing (animal) villagers for their birthdays so I thought I would also draw Yui in that style. I love it, she’s so cute like this~ Last time I did Yui Appreciation Week I wasn’t able to complete each day so I’m going try again this year and post a drawing each day this week!! Here’s hoping it works out~ Yui deserves as much appreciation as she can get because not only is my favorite character in the DiaLovers series but also my favorite heroine in any otome game.
People often forget what a bold and intelligent character Yui is. She is very much the “active” heroine that I always see people complaining about not having in otome. Not to say I don’t like passive heroines, I myself am overall a passive person. Rather, the problem I have is that people just assume that holding a weapon and/or being aggressive makes for a good MC... I feel like many people fail to realize that patience and intelligence is also power. It doesn’t help Yui’s case that the only thing most people see is her representation in the 2013 anime adaption.
Although there are some direct examples of her resisting that I can pull from the anime, it lacks the flair that the games had. Usually in anime we are able to hear the MC’s thoughts but in this anime adaption for DiaLovers not only do we not get to hear Yui inner thoughts, but she also get minimal dialogue in general. This is terrible considering that we most of the information we get about Yui’s feeling/growth is either from her inner thoughts or the monologues at the end of important story scenarios (she’d be dead if she said any of that stuff out loud Q~Q).
With this being the case, now’s the time to show off all of Yui’s best qualities and show her some love~ ♡ ♡ ♡
