I always thought Pat included that line as a commentary on the sexism inherent in hierarchical societies. That line is the worst thing to say. Because it turns the conversation away from the experiences of the victim to someone's hurt feelings. (1/2)

(2/2) I hope Pat meant it as a commentary on how frustrating it is to discuss topics such as sexual assault without someone jumping in because they are part of a priveleged group in society, and therefore think that their opinion should matter more.

We can hope! Might just be pointing out Kvothe's ignorance on the topic of women but I'm all for commentary on sexism.

Are you excited for the new Korra season? The leaked episodes give me hope for Zutara! Even as older adults, I think the paring works beautifully! Thoughts?

I’m really excited about seeing Zuko again!! But honestly, I find their lack of Katara-kicking-butt-like-there’s-no-tomorrow disturbing (yes, pun intended lol. But srsly, it’s not fair because Katara is so awesome and wasn’t given that much screen time. It’s a total shame :\ )Nevermind~I still care little about whether or not Zutara ends up together (which I doubt would ever happen, since Bryke openly admitted their disdain for the pairing), but the idea of Older!Zutara reuiniting (possibly teaming up to fight like old times) makes me all warm and fuzzy inside ♥

I said it badly before. I think Kvothe is in love with Denna, but I don't think she is in love with him. I think she cares about him, and his wellbeing. I don't think she loves herself, and is incapable of loving anyone else until she does.

I don't necessarily think not loving yourself bars you from loving another person. And from what I've read it seems like Denna's top priority is keeping herself alive and fed and clothed. She's taking care of herself the best she can in her situation. I think Denna wants the comfort of being with Kvothe but it's just not in her own best interest so she doesn't stay with him.

Love the blog. I have this one thing I want your opinion on. Are Kovothe and Denna in love? I vehemently dislike that many fans insist that they are. I don't see evidence to support a mutual romantic interest. I see devotion and friendship. Thoughts?

Thanks :) I dunno, they do a lot of witty banter and flirting so I tend to think that there's a mutual romantic interest. Could be wrong though! I mean it's obviously true on Kvothe's end, but who knows what's going on in Denna's head.
