I still can’t believe that some people will do whatever it takes to survive even if it’s based out of their own desperate paranoia. Growing up, Mato was always taught not to approach anyone who looked suspicious; likewise, trustworthy looking adults could usually be approached for assistance if needed, if there was no other alternative. Being in a city full of strangers and with an empty stomach leaves her no other option... And her eyes land on an older gentleman that passes her by. He reminds her of the father she hasn’t seen in ages, too busy on a business venture to come and see his own family; the likeness and kindness in his face make him an immediate choice for her, contrasted by the more unfamiliar people around them. She briskly walks towards him, and once caught up, she reaches out to tug gently on the back of his shirt.
