Hihi! Last time we talked I think was in 2015, your blog inspired me to make my own and I became part of your Yume family. Sadly, along the way I lost my password and lost access to this account. Now many many years later I remembered the email I used to make this account and logged in. To my surprise I still see you active on here. It warms my heart to see the start of my love for the Tumbir fandom still up and running. I've matured tremendously these past few years and looking back at my page I've made questionable styling choices. Seeing that it is not at all dead here makes me want to remodel my account and come back. Anyways, thank you so much for just existing<3

The Ultimate Power Couple

The cool evening air gently caressed Yuuki's skin as her hair danced ahead of her. The first clear blue sky was now inked with red, orange, and light pink hues as the sun sought refuge behind the building, to cast its golden glow across the other side of the earth far beyond the forests and oceans.

Only the sweet scent of roses betrayed his presence as he gently landed next to her, his long black coat draped around him like a protective shadow. Neither of them said anything, lost in their own thoughts, she stared at the dying sun, who was slowly clearing the path for the moon. Both were also painfully aware of what was to come, and Yuuki was also aware of the question Kaname was going to ask her, once again, to make sure that this was what she wanted, that she was willing to do it. And both of them already knew the answer.

“Are you sure… Yuuki?”  His voice was hardly a whisper, absorbed by the wind, but heard by the young woman standing beside him. The question to which they already knew the answer was asked.

“Yes, Kaname,” Yuuki smiled. “I want to do this, I want to fight beside you.” Her body was simmering, the power within her seemed ready to burst to the surface and to scatter in many butterflies as it had done so many times before. Just a little longer. The last rays of the sun had now disappeared and the darkness now began to weave itself through the landscape. In the building, the party went on. 

They both reached the door in one quick movement, no more questions were asked, there was no time for doubt, there was no doubt, both knew that this was what needed to be done. 

Butterflies and bats swarmed through the night sky as the door was blown out of its hinges. Kaname felt the anger roar through him, nothing appeared on his face, but his power didn’t need a facial expression to be understood. Tonight was the fateful night it would all end.

What do you think of the hooded woman?

I absolutely loved her.

She clearly came across as a strong, intelligent female character that knew exactly what she wanted which I found so refreshing. If only Hino used her more as a reference when it came to developing her other female characters such as Yuuki!

It would have been great if Hino dedicated more chapters to her so we could have learned more about her past, her journey to becoming the ‘Ancestress’ and relationship with Kaname. Perhaps Hino will use Vampire Knight Memories to flesh that out a bit more as Kaname continues to learn more about his past? Who knows!

Hey do you think , kaname really loved yuuki or was his thirst quenched by yuuki...or was he love in with hooded woman?

I believe he genuinely loved her. Look at the sacrifices he made and the extreme measures he took to ensure her safety and happiness. I can't imagine someone, who is purely driven by their thirst, doing something like that.

Similar to the previous ask I answered, I think Kaname did hold some sort of affection for the hooded woman. It is possible that he did love her, but its hard to say based on the limited details we have about their relationship (but wouldn't rule it out either). I'd say his affection for the hooded woman was based more on admiration and respect.

Hi, I've been following you for a while and even though I follow Vampire Knight Memories, I haven't really understood what's going on. Not many scenes are clear to me. Could you give me a brief summary up to the last chapter released? Where did Yuki go? Why did Ai become the head of the Kuran family and what happens in vampire society?

Apologies for the delay and thank you for your support!

I'm unfortunately in a similar boat to yourself. As the chapters are released on a bimonthly basis, I often forgot what's been included in the previous chapter and struggle to piece things together. Hino's approach of jumping between the past and present also makes this a bit more difficult!

Based on my memory (which is like a sieve), the vampire society were becoming increasingly frustrated with the restrictions Yuuki was imposing on them (e.g. isolate from humans within their territories), and her approach to address the ongoing crisis. They begun to suspect that Yuuki was more of the humans' ally (e.g. she grew up as a human) as opposed to theirs, and were rapidly losing trust in her.

Ai and Yuuki come with a plan a to diffuse the situation. Yuuki essentially pretends to be the 'bad guy' which Ai 'banishes', and Ai becomes the head of the Kuran family. In doing so, Ai successfully restores trust among the vampire society, and they comply to the restrictions Yuuki proposed which she implements.

As its been a while since I read it, I'd definitely recommend re-reading the chapters which you can do here.

I actually dropped the anime and stopped reading the manga because of Yuuki. So useless, air head, hopelessly confused. Y'know what would make me laugh. If Zero and Kaname found someone else and left this dumb girl by herself. Vampire Knight is not better that Twilight solely because they are both as bad. Yuuki is basically the Bella Swan Of Vampire Knight.

Absolutely. I wouldn't mind if Yuuki had the occasional air head moment, as that's only natural. But to see it non-stop throughout the manga was really draining from a reader's perspective, particularly her indecisiveness.

If Hino wanted to include that as a part of her character, fine. But one way she could have made it more tolerable from a reader's perspective, is by showing how she grew out of it as she matured, to the point that when those moments did appear, its some kind of nostalgic treat for the audience. Thanks to Hino's emphasis on this 'air head' image, I find it really difficult to take Yuuki seriously when she is trying to be 'intimating' or 'smart' in the series.
