No.436 at Horyuji Temple, Nara, Japan
No.200 at Horyuji Temple, Nara, Japan
On the top of the roof ahead is a metal container placed for holding the ashes of a dead body. The building is called as Yumedono and was built to worship Prince Shotoku, one of the founders who is said to have organized the fundamentals of Japan as a country in Nara era(710-794).
A series of neatly ordered roof tiles highlights the sacredness of the elegantly decorated container. Order and neatness give things something pure, sacred and elegant.
