Next up is the Psycolt line, the first Psychic type and the first Fakemon to use evolutionary stones as well. I
Psycolt is a good Fakemon, with a nice punny name and a simple cute design. I especially like the purple mohawk of hair that goes down it’s back into the tail, and the strange mark on it’s side. It’s species name as the “Mysterious” Pokemon is neat too, as Psychic type Pokemon seem to be portrayed as strange in the Pokedex a lot of the time.
Using a Moon Stone, Psycolt becomes the Psychic/Flying Kinegasus. There’s something off about Kinegasus, and I can’t quite place it. It’s something about the face and wings that just look off to me, and the placement of it’s legs a re a little strange, which is a shame since it’s got a cool name, and a Pegasus Pokemon hasn’t been done before! Maybe it just needs a better sprite?
If you use a Sun Stone on Psycolt you instead get the more physically powerful Yunesis. Yunesis looks much nicer than Kinegasus, especially with the hair mohawk looking like it’s less hair and more psychic energy radiation off it’s back. The name is less catchy than Psycolt and Kinegasus, but it’s still a nice pun like the rest of the line.
The Psycolt line may have a bit of misstep with one evolution, but it seems like it may just be a bad sprite that’s at fault there, and is another Fakemon that looks like it could be an actual Pokemon. Overall I say that the Psycolt line gets four ridiculously buff Pikachu out of five. Fix Kinegasus up a bit and maybe even a five out of five!
