the suns rays disperse through the gaps of leafs of the oak you’re both sat under. you turn to your left to face the man that you’ve loved for going on 4 years now and he’s grown so much. hair that used to be frayed and crazed is now long and relaxed — he doesn’t look as lost as he used to. he’s not as shy or timid as he used to be — in the past always in flight — he takes the time to stay and grow with you to maintain stability in a sense.
“hey? what are you thinking about?” he asks, looking concerned — eyebrows dipped and eyes filled with worry, ready to make things better — to bring you comfort. his right hand raises to brush his thumb along the apple of your cheek. the cold metal of the ring that used to mark him as a curse still ever present but holding a much different meaning.
“nothing yuu, you just look so pretty” you mumble and that makes his cheeks tinge pink. he leans over to press a kiss to your lips that are always so sweet. his left hand presses against your lower back — right cupping your face and pulling you closer.
and although he’s changed from who he used to be he still remains the same man you’ve always loved, your yuu. butterflies still erupt at the sound of your voice or the way that you call his name, but especially at the way your lips warm his unable to hide his giddiness from you sometimes even flushing and sparinging you a lovesick grin.
“i love you,” he whispers enough for you only you to hear — not the random strangers walking on the sidewalk or even the birds that sing in the tree above you — only you “i love you forever and always”.
he places kisses on your bare shoulders — tuffs of your curls tickling his nose ears and his ears red from doing and saying such intimate things in an area as public as this but he means every last thing.
he means it in the way that he delicately presses kisses to your knuckles. picking out stray leaves that fall in your hair, replacing them with flowers. savouring every moment he has with you like it’s his last because some day it will be, but until then he’ll cherish you with everything he has until his last moment.
