the smile settled first because, well, it was yumi. pearly whites sank into his full lower lip, an upward tilt of his chin and fixated gaze down the bridge of his nose towards her ringing true as nothing but approval. ❝ if i was capable of being tied down, i might let you have a shot. try me during my midlife crisis. ❞

♣ – vanity -- among others -- were his sins of choice and he stood his proudest when he looked his best. he dressed not just for the self fulfillment catering to a poorly contained ego but a certain feminine persuasion he liked to indulge in often concluded with his carnal intentions when he was buttoned to the nines. fashion was as much for himself as it was for those he wanted around him. no dress code existed save for the mention of neatly tailored suits for a bouncer at loft 38 but he rejected the notion of belonging to a sea of simple ensembles. a differing factor was needed to stand out. a woman’s touch was needed. she hated surprises but he was in too much need to care. a text was barely sent her way before his car had already claimed a parking spot in the school’s parking lot with only long draws from his cigarette to pass the time until she came strutting out of the building, marking the end of the school day.
