Can I get a scenario of Midori using that bottle of pheromones you mentioned forever ago that she bought to mess with Kurama ? :3 I ship them so hard !
So like….I have been trying to find this bottle of pheromones and I cannot find it. However, I can still write a scenario like this or try to. :o
It was supposed to be a joke. A “welcome to college life” kind of thing that Yusuke had decided he would pull with me. I don’t know how he got the bottle of pheromones and frankly I wasn’t sure I wanted to know. It had gone forgotten in the bowels of my room all of first semester but over the holiday break I had stumbled across it again.
Tilting my head curiously, I examined the bottle and sloshed it’s contents. There wasn’t a lot but it was clear. Honestly if Yusuke hadn’t told me what was inside, I would have thought it was just water. I took the cap off and sniffed it delicately but couldn’t really smell anything about it.
‘I do meet up with Kurama later…Should I…?’
A strange curiosity took me then and I found myself using a cotton swab to dab the liquid carefully onto my neck and on the inside of my wrists like it was a perfume. A new found confidence took me when I realized that it didn’t matter how Kurama pretended to not be bothered, I KNEW that he would be. Yusuke DID tell me that it was to “help you kids out”.
I decided that for once, I was going to dress nice too. If I was going to feel confident, I might as well go all the way, right? I pulled out a pair of high waisted jeans and pulled on a fitted long sleeved shirt a soft cream color and I pulled my leather jacket over that. My hair was far too wild and unruly with it’s curls so I tamed it back into a braid.
I put on some make up but still applied it more like how it was done in my time. I never really went over the top with make up or anything like that. I had always preferred more minimal make up and earthy eye shadows to bring out my natural eye color. After examining myself in the mirror, I nodded once. I wasn’t a fashion whiz by any means, especially not for this era, but I felt like I looked pretty good. Feeling ready and confident, I left to meet up with Kurama.
“Ah…you look nice.” Was his greeting when he met me outside the cafe.
I smiled widely at him, “Thanks! I actually felt like making an effort today. Better call the press for that, huh?”
“Stranger things have happened.”
As I walked in his general direction, I noticed a tightening in his shoulders. He must have caught the scent of the pheromones. I gave a secret smile to myself as I led the way to a table that I would like. There was a cozy one in the corner with just enough sunlight to cast it in a glow but not enough to be blinding so I drifted over to that table. I took a seat with my back to the door because I figured Kurama would prefer the seat facing the exit. Plus, if anyone shady were to come in, he’d be better at spotting it than I would be.
When he settled into his seat, I noticed his eyes were fixed on me, as if he were studying me. I blinked a few times, tilting my head to the side in a silent gesture of inquiring what was wrong. But he never had the chance to answer for that was when our waitress approached the table.
“Can I get a cup of green tea, please?” I asked, taking the menu she offered.
She nodded and scribbled the order down.
“I’ll take the same. Thank you.”
Our waitress disappeared off to the kitchen to make our beverages and I looked back at Kurama, drumming my fingers on the table.
“Things seem to be going well with the merger of human and demon worlds.” I noted to him, looking down at the menu to decide what I wanted.
“It has been slow going, a tentative show in trust of one another. I don’t suspect it will stay like this, however.”
I looked up and Kurama didn’t seem to be paying a lot of attention to me. He was looking at his own menu and I found my brows furrowing. Doubt started to creep up in my mind, wondering if the pheromones were even working. But it WAS Kurama, he wasn’t exactly open about his thoughts and feelings. I leaned forward across the table so I would be closer to him. Maybe I would get more of a reaction if I was closer to him.
“What do you mean? Do you think someone is going to try something?” I queried.
“Spirit world has been working against demon world for years, looking for reasons to target them. It is only a matter of time before they find another reason to distrust them and try to do something about it.”
I frowned, “But why? If things are peaceful, why would you try and stir things up like that?”
“Old prejudices die hard. They may not instigate anything but when a problem happens between humans and demons, which is inevitable, Spirit world will be quick to be against the demons.”
I clucked my tongue, “Well, I guess we’ll handle it when that comes, yeah?”
We were interrupted by the waitress again who took our orders and gave us our tea. When she left, I pushed his green tea closer to him, Kurama’s hand came out and took hold of my wrist. His grip was firm but not painful. Slowly, he pulled my wrist closer to his face, eyes locked with mine. I watched with wide eyes, my heart clenching tightly in my chest. The fox turned his head, nose brushing against the inside of my wrist, eyes flickering closed.
He took a deep inhale through his nose and paused for a moment, leaving me to hold my own breath. Vivid green eyes snapped open, a fire nearly blazing behind them as he stared intensely into my own gaze. I could feel my cheeks flushing from the look he was giving me, shuffling awkwardly in my seat.
“You should be careful. Were I a lesser demon you might not have made it into this cafe.”
“Even more so…you could have attracted unwanted attention.”
“O-oh. Sorry.” I stammered, “C…can I have my hand back now?”
A tiny smile quirked on his mouth before he released me. I snatched my hand away as if I had been burned, feeling myself shaking finely in nervousness. I had never seen him like that. There was casual flirting or the really subtle stuff to mess with me but that was the most forward I had ever seen him.
His eyes glinted, “Am I giving you unwanted attention?”
“You heard me.” the fox took a hold of his tea cup with one hand, “Am I giving you unwanted attention?”
I shifted awkwardly in my seat, face redder than a tomato, “I…what kind of question is that?”
“Answer me, Midori.” He said smoothly before taking a long sip of his tea, eyes still staring me down over the rim of his cup.
“….I think you already know the answer to that.”
“Perhaps.” He agreed, “But I want to hear you say it.”
The heat behind my cheeks burned even hotter and I clutched my teacup tightly. I took a long drink to try and stall for time. But he sat unmoved, staring at me as I tried to fight off my embarrassment.
“…No…” I mumbled finally.
“I’m sorry, I’m afraid I couldn’t quite hear you.”
The flush on my face darkened before I said a bit more firmly, “No, you aren’t giving me…unwanted attention.”
He gave a very quiet chuckle, “Good.”
