December Update Post
Happy second night of Hanukkah!
It's been a while since I wrote one of these posts, for which I apologize. The main reason is that I like to post when I have progress to report. Since September, there have been several complications and commitments that limited my writing time. I'd planned to make big progress on The Flower of Fairmont, enough to get me closer to being able to post an update to the game's demo. That hasn't happened. I have made some progress on week 3, but that week's main journal entry is still far from complete.
So, what progress I've made is either not enough or not ready to be shared. However, I've enjoyed returning to Fairmont's world and the many folkloric inspirations that it draws on. I'm now regularly adding words and checking scenes and choices off my to-do list. Still, I'm quite far from being able to set a date for the next update. I'll make an effort to update my progress here more often.

Last update before the long haul
Turncoat Chronicle has been submitted to Hosted Games for consideration. This means that the public beta period is now over, and the game is going into a period of dormancy. As soon as I know when it’s going to become public again, I will update the development thread as well as this Tumblr account, but how long that takes is out of my control.
In the meantime, I’m happy to take questions, either here or on the forums, about the game’s background, characters, routes, or development process.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you who has played my little game for sticking with me through a long, and at times grueling, development process. Turncoat Chronicle was a larger and more complex project than I had initially anticipated. With your help, it has also become richer, fuller, and (I hope) more satisfying to play.
Small Fairmont update
You can find the demo for The Flower of Fairmont on itch.io.
The update is a small one. I fixed some display errors that were bugging me. I also edited the text of several choices to be shorter and more readable. There is a small additional scene that appears only if you choose to cut off correspondence with someone.
Still, I wanted to push this update to remind people that Fairmont exists and is in active development.
The Flower of Fairmont is a mystery, romance, and epistolary text game in a fantasy setting inspired by Victorian England.
Demo update: The Flower of Fairmont

May 2022 Update
It's a new month, so it's time for an update post!
When I worked out my schedule for spring, I treated April and May as a single unit, because of certain external factors. That means that unfortunately, I don't have any visible updates to show you.
My main task for the spring is returning to the first half of Turncoat Chronicle to test it again. Having done a great deal of work on the game's climactic scenes, I'm hoping the new insights will allow me to edit and finesse chapter 1 to create a smoother, more satisfying game experience. It's satisfying to return to the text and code that I wrote nearly four years ago, and see how much my writing has evolved and changed.
In May, I intend to devote myself to this task even more, instead of splitting my writing time between editing and creating new scenes. I still have some important scenes I want to work on, but I'll be returning to those once I'm satisfied that I've gotten chapter 1 up to code, so to speak. I also have some important non-writing tasks in May, so those will be taking up my time, as well.
As always, I am continuing to work on Turncoat Chronicle to the best of my ability, even if there are no visible changes. The plan remains to complete the game by sometime in late 2022, and I am on course for that deadline. I'm so thankful to everyone who has played the TC demo, and even more grateful to the readers who took the time to provide feedback. Reader and player feedback has helped me enormously in pushing this game towards completion.
