SXSW: We’re Back.
“Check... check... is this thing on?”
That’s something you hear a lot at SXSW, which, ironically, is the perfect place to say hi from again: Hi. This is Zach’s friend Jeff Miller, formerly of Thrillist, currently of Black Crystal Wolf Kids and the Travel Channel show Trip Testers -- you may have heard me on a bunch of episodes of the podcast back in the day. And I recently asked Zach if I could bring back Food Is The New Rock, and he said sure, and here I am, at SXSW, perhaps the best place for food & rock’s convergence in the known universe. So, yeah: I’m here now, and Zach may be back too, and Chuck P, and we’ll see what happens from there. But for now, here’s a picture of BBQ, which I haven’t eaten in Austin yet, but I should, because the BBQ in Austin is amazing. “Making food: that’s art for people.” -- Kesha, at her SXSW talk today.
