Isn't it amazing how getting to learn Ryan's entire career also means discovering all the non-movies things he did, including, arguably, one of the best ones... Dead Man's Bones, so uniquely creative and with such a fun vibe that they're impossible to compare to anything ? They're their own thing, delightfully bizarre, totally enthralling and so. Damn. Good.

Lost In The Night fast became my absolute favorite one. His voice is so... I mean, it's nothing like, say, Seb or Ken, and it pairs so well with Zach's.

To anyone who never heard that song before today, I'm sorry, you're one of us now, it will not leave your mind. EVER.

Since Ryan Gosling is trending again after the release of Project Hail Mary (very understandably I might add) I thought I would share this fun little tidbit

In the early 2000s Ryan Gosling was the lead singer in a sort of gothic/alternative (?) band called Dead Man's Bones

I recommend checking them out! As far as I know they only have one released album, but it's super cool and fun! Definitely perfect for a Halloween playlist, in my case

Personally, I think all of the songs on the album are fucking awesome. They have such an interesting vibe to them, and I love the story that gets told on each song. Also, choosing to partner with a children's choir for your indie goth album is such a banger of an idea holy shit

Funnily enough, I'd actually heard and enjoyed a couple of their songs for a few years and just never realized it was him (which I think is telling of the quality of the music actually being good), now of course I can't unhear it, but the music is still really good so I don't mind

sure you love halloween but do you love halloween as much as to bond over it with someone else, and then deciding to drop one of the greatest albums of all time, recruiting a bunch of kids disguised as ghouls of the night, and then forcing yourself to play all instruments and only having 3 takes per track, for then to make the band disappear from existence?
